A reminder that this weekend is the South Bank Cuaco Annual Social. Get to the clubhouse for 8.00. Late bar, DJ, Music, Fancy Dress as 'Santa's Little Helper' (At behest of the Rugby Club). £5 entry with fancy dress, £10 entry without. All proceeds go to the Kings Charity. Spread the word amongst your teamates and ensure it's a good night! We've got a great club atmosphere this year and this should be another chance to get behind South Bank and enjoy yourself with your mates before we break up for Christmas
Cuaco recovered from going 1-0 down, to win 2-1 at Fortress OD Stadium.
4s – the 4s travelled to Old Wilsonians looking to gain a measure of revenge for a 6-1 defeat earlier in the season and build on last week’s impressive win against Merton. Things didn’t start too well as the scheduled keeper added to the club’s disappointing ‘no shows’ from the weekend, the disciplinary committee will be busy this week! This left 11 players with 3 carrying injuries.
It was a busy day for Paul Holehouse as he took a full torrent of abuse in the pre match huddle from his team mates, scored four goals, had one goal disallowed, picked up a yellow card (didn't know they were still going!) and upset most of our hosts.
An update from Social Sec Simon Manners:Saturday 13th DecemberVenue: all club players know whereTime: 7:30 until very late (1-2am)Cost: £5 (in fancy dress - 'Santa's little helpers'), £10 (without) - profit to charityDJ
Great to see all sides back in action this weekend, although a long injury and 'unavailable' list meant the 5's had to postpone their fixture.A spirited and attacking performance saw the 3's come close to knocking Winchmore 3's out of the AFA Cup. A slow start saw the 3's concede an early goal and look set for a tough afternoon until some great battling and clinical passing from Dave Howe and Tom Davies in midfield helped them mount the pressure.
Keep an eye out on the club website this week for information on the South Bank Cuaco tour 2015 - the destination and dates have been finalized by Luke Howard, Simon Manners and Luke Howard and will come out Monday night / Tuesday Morning.
A fairly quiet week at the club this week as poor weather meant all games at Turney Road were called off. With the 1s, 3s, 4s and 5s all missing out due to the weather, it was up to the 2s to ensure there was something positive to write home about.Led by Simon Manners (Lawrene Collings away in Iceland) the 2s stormed home to a 4-2 victory at Kew. Depite a long journey over to South West London and wet and blustery conditions, Nathan Cameron, Edu, Tyrell Campbell and James Smith all netted in the first half, the latter two being particularly memorable.
Cuaco returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Springfield.
Evening everyone. Hopefully all midweek fitness training is going well. Given the poor weather this week and last keep checking the club website/facebook/twitter pages for any updates regarding abandoned matches - if you're game is called off it is important you text your captain with availability for Saturday 22nd November.
